An Act to modify limits on non-operating appropriations in aid set for the year that ended with 31st March 2002.

Whereas the Commons of the United Kingdom in Parliament assembled have resolved to modify the limits set on non-operating appropriations in aid for the year that ended with 31st March 2002:—

Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1Non-operating appropriations in aid for 2001-02

(1)The Schedule to this Act sets out modifications of the limits set for the purposes of section 2 of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000 (c. 20) on the resources applicable, in accordance with that Act, as non-operating appropriations in aid for the year 2001-02.

(2)The limits, as modified by the Schedule to this Act, shall be deemed to have been in force throughout the year 2001-02.

(3)Subsection (2), so far as it relates to the reduction of a limit, does not affect the validity of any direction given by the Treasury under section 2 of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000 during the year 2001-02.

(4)In this section “the year 2001-02” means the year that ended with 31st March 2002.

2Short title

This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (No. 2) Act 2002.
