Special obligations for Channel 4

I1297Channel 4 contribution towards national television archive

Section 185 of the 1990 Act (contributions towards maintenance of the national television archive) shall be amended as follows.

In subsections (1) and (3), after “Channel 3” there shall be inserted “ , Channel 4 ”.

In subsection (5), at the end there shall be inserted—

“Channel 4 licence” means—

a

the licence referred to in section 231(1)(b) of the Communications Act 2003; and

b

a licence renewing that licence on the first or any subsequent occasion.

This section has effect in relation only to financial years beginning after the television transfer date.
