68Endorsement of [F2driving record]: Great BritainU.K.

[F3(1)This section applies where a person who—

(a)is normally resident in Great Britain, or

(b)is not normally resident in Great Britain but holds a Great Britain licence,

is disqualified by virtue of section 57.]

[F4(2)The Secretary of State must secure that the particulars of the disqualification are endorsed on the person's driving record until the end of the period for which the endorsement remains effective.

(3)At the end of the period for which the endorsement remains effective the Secretary of State must remove the endorsement from the person's driving record.]

(6)The endorsement remains effective until four years have elapsed since he was convicted of the offence in relation to which he is disqualified by virtue of section 57.

[F5(7)Where the person ceases to be disqualified by virtue of section 57(6), the Secretary of State must endorse the relevant particulars on his driving record.

(8)In this section “driving record” has the meaning given by section 97A of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.]
