Amend section 23 (discontinuance of proceedings in magistrates' courts) as follows.

In subsections (3), (7) and (8), for “justices' chief executive for” substitute “ designated officer for ”.

In subsection (10), for “rules made under section 144 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980” substitute “ Criminal Procedure Rules ”.
