In section 297 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 (wreck commissioners), after subsection (3) insert—

“(3A)

The Lord Chancellor may remove a wreck commissioner from office only with the concurrence of—

(a)

the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, or

(b)

if the commissioner was appointed to act in Northern Ireland, the Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland.”
