AMHP – approved mental health professional
ASW – approved social worker
CCfW – Care Council for Wales
CTO – community treatment order
ECHR – European Convention on Human Rights
ECT – electro-convulsive therapy
GSCC – General Social Care Council
IMCA –independent mental capacity advocate
IMHA – independent mental health advocate
LHB – local health board
LSSA – local social services authority
MCA – Mental Capacity Act 2005
MHAC – Mental Health Act Commission
MHRT – Mental Health Review Tribunal
NHSFT – National Health Service foundation trust
NR – nearest relative
PCT – primary care trust
RC – responsible clinician
RMO – responsible medical officer
SCT - supervised community treatment
SOAD – Second Opinion Appointed Doctor
