Contracted out prisons and secure training centres
20Amendment of section 87 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991
(1)
Section 87 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 (modification of Prison Act 1952 in its application to a contracted out prison) is amended as follows.
(2)
For subsection (3) there is substituted—
“(3)
Section 8 (powers of prison officers) shall not apply (but this does not affect the powers of a prison officer who is temporarily attached to the prison).”
(3)
In subsection (4), after “sections” there is inserted “
8A(3), (4) and (5)
