For the purposes of the exercise of their functions in relation to the revision of the regional strategy for their region, the responsible regional authorities must prepare and publish a statement of their policies as to the involvement of persons who appear to them to have an interest in the exercise of those functions.

The responsible regional authorities must comply with the statement or revised statement in the exercise of the functions referred to in subsection (1).
