12U.K.If required to do so by the Secretary of State, the MMO must—
(a)pay such pensions, allowances or gratuities as the Secretary of State may determine to or in respect of any person who is or has been a member;
(b)pay such sums as the Secretary of State may determine towards provision for the payment of pensions, allowances or gratuities to or in respect of any such person.

Impact Assessments
Impact Assessments generally accompany all UK Government interventions of a regulatory nature that affect the private sector, civil society organisations and public services. They apply regardless of whether the regulation originates from a domestic or international source and can accompany primary (Acts etc) and secondary legislation (SIs).
