18Notification by medical practitioner to senior coronerE+W

(1)The Lord Chancellor may make regulations requiring a registered medical practitioner, in prescribed cases or circumstances, to notify a senior coroner of a death of which the practitioner is aware.
(2)Before making regulations under this section the Lord Chancellor must consult—
(a)the Secretary of State for Health [F1and Social Care], and
(b)the Chief Coroner.

Impact Assessments
Impact Assessments generally accompany all UK Government interventions of a regulatory nature that affect the private sector, civil society organisations and public services. They apply regardless of whether the regulation originates from a domestic or international source and can accompany primary (Acts etc) and secondary legislation (SIs).
