1126“Franked investment income”

(1)

In the Corporation Tax Acts “franked investment income” means income of a UK resident company which consists of a distribution in respect of which the company is entitled to a tax credit.

(2)

Accordingly, a reference in the Corporation Tax Acts to the amount of any franked investment income is to the total of the amount or value of the distribution and the amount of the tax credit.

(3)

In the Corporation Tax Acts a reference to franked investment income received by a company includes a reference to franked investment income received by another person on behalf of, or in trust for, the company.

(4)

But a reference in the Corporation Tax Acts to franked investment income received by a company does not include a reference to franked investment income received by the company on behalf of, or in trust for, another person.
