The Secretary of State may give directions in writing to DBS in relation to the exercise of any of its functions other than a core function mentioned in paragraph 8(1)(a), (b) or (c).

The Secretary of State may vary or revoke any such directions.

DBS must comply with any directions given under this paragraph.
