Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013

Commencement

219.The short title of the Act and the power to make commencement orders came into force on 17 July 2013 - the day on which the Act was passed (section 21), as did sections 15 and 16.  The remaining provisions of the Act will be brought into force on a day or days appointed by commencement order made by the Secretary of State and provisions may be brought into force on different days and at different times for different purposes.
