Territorial Extent and Application

10.Most of the provisions of the Act consist of textual amendments of other Acts. Section 23(1) provides that a provision that amends or repeals another Act has the same extent as the amended or repealed provision. Section 23(2) provides that the other provisions of the Act extend to the whole of the United Kingdom. Sections 23(3) and (6) make further provision about extent with regards to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man in relation to the amendments made by paragraphs 1 to 8 of Schedule 3 of the Act to Schedule 1 to the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997 (the 1997 Act). Section 23(7) makes further provision about extent with regards to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man in relation to amendments to the 2003 Act made by this Act. Sections 23(4), (5) and (8) make further provision about extent in relation to amendments of the Armed Forces Act 2006 and of provisions applied by that Act.
