Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (c. 8)

71 Section 417(1) (definitions) is amended as follows.

(1) Omit the definition of “industrial and provident society”.

(2) Insert in the appropriate place—

• ““registered society” (except where otherwise indicated) means—

  (a)

  a registered society within the meaning of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, or

  (b)

  a society registered or deemed to be registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 1969;”.
