Policing and Crime Act 2017, Cross Heading: Replacement of definition of ACPO with definition of NPCC is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 29 April 2025. There are changes that may be brought into force at a future date. Changes that have been made appear in the content and are referenced with annotations.
1(1)Section 101(1) of the Police Act 1996 is amended as follows.E+W
(2)Omit the definition of “the Association of Chief Police Officers”.
(3)After the definition of “national or international functions” insert—
““the National Police Chiefs' Council” means the body called the National Police Chiefs' Council which was established in accordance with a collaboration agreement under section 22A above entered into on 1 April 2015;”.
