Section 21 of the Children Act 1989 is amended as follows.

In subsection (2)(c)—

a

in sub-paragraph (ia), for “paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 or paragraph 6 of Schedule 8 to the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000” substitute “ paragraph 5 of Schedule 4 or paragraph 7 of Schedule 5 to the Sentencing Code ”;

b

in sub-paragraph (ii), for “paragraph 21 of Schedule 2 to the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008” substitute “ paragraph 25 of Schedule 7 to that Code ”.

For subsection (2A) substitute—

In subsection (2)(c)(iii)—

  • “local authority residence requirement” has the meaning given by paragraph 24 of Schedule 6 to the Sentencing Code;

  • “youth rehabilitation order” has the meaning given by section 173 of that Code;

  • “youth rehabilitation order with fostering” has the meaning given by section 176 of that Code.
