19In relation to a pre-commencement case (within the meaning of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (Consequential, Transitional and Saving Provisions) Regulations 2013 (S.I. 2013/534)), the reference in section 226(7) to representation under Part 1 of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 includes representation referred to in section 83(3)(a) of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 as it had effect immediately before 1 April 2013 (representation funded by the Legal Services Commission as part of the Criminal Defence Service).
