123Limit on fines imposed by magistrates' courts in respect of young offendersE+W
(1)This section applies where an offender—
(a)was convicted by a magistrates' court,
(b)was under 18 when convicted, and
(c)is before that court to be sentenced.
(2)The court may not impose a fine of more than—
(a)£250, if the offender was under 14 when convicted, or
(b)£1,000, if the offender was 14 or over when convicted.
