CHAPTER 1New financial assistance powers
6 I1Monitoring impact of financial assistance etc

The Secretary of State must, in relation to each financial assistance scheme—
a
monitor the impact of the scheme, and
b
make one or more reports on the impact and effectiveness of the scheme (having had regard to the findings of that monitoring).

The Secretary of State may, in relation to any financial assistance given otherwise than under a financial assistance scheme—
a
monitor the impact of the financial assistance, and
b
make one or more reports on the impact and effectiveness of the financial assistance (having had regard to the findings of that monitoring).

Monitoring under subsection (1) or (2) must be carried out in such manner and for such period or periods as the Secretary of State considers appropriate for the scheme or other financial assistance in question.

The number and frequency of reports made under subsection (1) or (2) are to be as the Secretary of State considers appropriate for the scheme or other financial assistance in question.
5
Every such report must be laid before Parliament, and published, by the Secretary of State.
