18 Interpretation.

In this Act—

  • “local authority” means the council of a county, . . . F2 borough or . . . F2 district and the Common Council of the City of London; and

  • “the Minister” means the Minister of Housing and Local Government.

Any reference in this Act to any enactment shall be construed as a reference thereto as amended by or under any subsequent enactment.

19 Short title, commencement and extent.

This Act may be cited as the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1953.
