The Crown and the Indian States.

286Use of His Majesty's forces in connection with discharge of the functions of the Crown in its relations with Indian States.

(1)If His Majesty's Representative for the exercise of the functions of the Crown in its relations with Indian States requests the assistance of armed forces for the due discharge of those functions, it shall be the duty of the Governor-General in the exercise of the executive authority of the Federation to cause the necessary forces to be employed accordingly, but the net additional expense, if any, incurred in connection with those forces hy reason of that employment shall be deemed to be expenses of His Majesty incurred, in discharging the said functions of the Crown.

(2)In discharging his functions under this section the Governor-General shall act in his discretion.
