This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
(1)Any notice or other document required or authorised to be served under this Act may be served either—
(a)by delivering it to the person on whom it is to be served; or
(b)by leaving it at the usual or last known place of abode of that person; or
(c)by sending it in a prepaid registered letter addressed to that person at his usual or last known place of abode; or
(d)in the case of an incorporated company or body, by delivering it to the secretary or clerk of the company or body at its registered or principal office or sending it in a prepaid registered letter addressed to the secretary or clerk of the company or body at that office.
(2)In relation to any document issued by or under the authority of any Government department for the purposes of this Act, the [31 & 32 Vict. c. 37.] Documentary Evidence Act, 1868, as amended by the [45 & 46 Vict. c. 9.] Documentary Evidence Act, 1882, shall have effect as if the Commission and the Board were included in the first column of the Schedule to the first-mentioned Act, and any person authorised to act on behalf of the Commission or the Board, as the case may be, were mentioned in the second column of that Schedule, and the regulations referred to in those Acts included any such document as aforesaid.
