80 Short title, extent and commencement.

This Act may be cited as the Marriage Act, 1949.

Save as is otherwise expressly provided, this Act shall not extend to Scotland or to Northern Ireland.

The provisions of this Act specified in the Sixth Schedule to this Act shall not extend to Wales or Monmouthshire.

This Act shall come into force on the first day of January, nineteen hundred and fifty.
