The Superannuation (Crown Solicitor for Northern Ireland) Order 1974

The Minister for the Civil Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(5) and 8(a) of the Superannuation Act 1972, hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Crown Solicitor for Northern Ireland) Order 1974, and shall come into operation on 25th July 1974.

2.  The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

3.  The office of Crown Solicitor for Northern Ireland is hereby added to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972 with effect from 1st January 1974.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order adds the office of Crown Solicitor for Northern Ireland to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to that Act, thereby bringing persons holding the office of Crown Solicitor within the principal civil service pension scheme made under s.1 of the 1972 Act.

Under the power conferred by s.1(8)(a) of the 1972 Act the Order takes effect from 1st January 1974.
