Coming into Operation
The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 11 of the National Debt Act 1972 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Premium Savings Bonds (Amendment) Regulations 1977 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1977.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

in Regulation 2(1) by inserting, after the definition of “bond”
, the following definition:—
“Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies”, except in the application of these Regulations to Scotland, means the Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies or a deputy appointed by him,

by deleting Regulation 32(2)(f).
