Payments to Redundant Churches Fund Order 1979

We, the Church Commissioners for England, in exercise of the powers conferred on us by Section 53(1) of the Pastoral Measure 1968(1) do hereby order as follows:—

1.  The maximum amount to be paid to the Redundant Churches Fund by the Church Commissioners during the five year period 1st April 1979 to 31st March 1984 shall be £1,450,000.E+W

2.  The maximum amount of the payments which may be made to the Redundant Churches Fund towards the said £1,450,000 under Section 52(1)(a) of the said Measure out of the one-third of the net proceeds of sale and premiums shall be £483,000.E+W

3.  The balance of the said £1,450,000 shall be paid by way of grants made to the Redundant Churches Fund by the Church Commissioners under Section 45(10) of the said Measure out of their General Fund.E+W

4.  Payments made under the preceding paragraphs shall only be made to the said Fund when the Church Commissioners are satisfied that (1) the Fund is in need of further money and (2) an equivalent amount will be paid to the Fund out of moneys provided by Parliament.E+W

5.  This Order may be cited as the Payments to Redundant Churches Fund Order 1979 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1979.E+W
