2011-05-19
METROPOLITAN AND CITY POLICE DISTRICTS;CABS
This Order increases the existing fares and certain extra charges payable for the hiring of a motor cab in the Metropolitan Police District and the City of London in respect of all journeys beginning and ending there. It also makes new provision in respect of the extra charges for the carriage of luggage and for hirings at night, at weekends and on public holidays. If a cab is fitted with a taximeter which is not capable of recording the new fares automatically, a notice setting out the fares payable in relation to the fares shown on the meter (up to £5 in the case of an electro-mechanical meter and £6.90 in the case of an electronic meter) must be prominently displayed in the cab. The conversion from fares shown on the meter to fares payable by the hirer is set out in the Schedule to the Order.
