The Transport Act 1981 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1981

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 35(5) and 40(4) of the Transport Act 1981, I hereby make the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1981 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1981.

2.  In the Transport Act 1981—

(a) section 35 (except subsections (1) and (2)) (charges for licensing of cabs outside London) and

(b) in Part III of Schedule 12 (repeals), the entry relating to the Town Police Clauses Act 1847

shall come into force on 12th October 1981.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force on 12th October 1981 the provisions of the Transport Act 1981 mentioned in Article 2. The Order does not affect Scotland or Northern Ireland.
