ESTATE AGENTS
These Regulations provide that an officer of a local weights and measures authority shall not in the cases specified in the Regulations exercise the powers conferred by section 11 of the Estate Agents Act 1979 in relation to the production, copying, seizure and detention of books and documents relating to business carried on by banks, and to the breaking open of containers for the purpose of seizing such books and documents, unless he has the authority of the Director General of Fair Trading or the consent of the customer.

These Regulations may be cited as the Estate Agents (Entry and Inspection) Regulations 1981 and shall come into operation on 3rd May 1982.
