This Resolution of the General Synod of the Church of England, which was passed in accordance with section 7(1) of the Synodical Government Measure 1969, makes two amendments of the Church Representation Rules contained in Schedule 3 to that Measure. These changes are:—

This Resolution of the General Synod of the Church of England, which was passed in accordance with section 7(1) of the Synodical Government Measure 1969, makes two amendments of the Church Representation Rules contained in Schedule 3 to that Measure. These changes are:—

Provision is made for those elected or chosen as members of Deanery Synods in 1982 to serve for a term of two years until 1984 instead of a three year term (paragraph 1). This prevents elections to the Deanery and Diocesan Synods taking place in the same year in the future.

The amendment to rules 25 and 26 brings forward by one month the election period of members of Diocesan Synods (paragraphs 2 and 3).
