The Health Services Act 1980 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1981

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 26(2) of the Health Services Act 1980 and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Health Services Act 1980 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1981.

The day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act which are specified in this Article shall be 1st August 1981.

The provisions which are specified as aforesaid are:—

a

section 16 and Schedule 4, and

b

in Schedule 7, the repeals in the Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Act 1938, the Nursing Homes Act 1975 and the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 (and section 25(4) so far as it relates to those repeals).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation section 16 of, and Schedule 4 to, the Health Services Act 1980 which amends and repeals certain enactments relating to nursing homes and mental nursing homes. It also brings into operation the part of Schedule 7 to the Health Services Act 1980 relating to those enactments.

NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS

Section 14 of the Act has been brought into force by S.I. 1980/1257 made before the date of this Order. Section 25(2) of, and Schedule 5 to, the Act has been brought into force by S.I. 1981/306 also made before the date of this Order.
