The Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Great Britain) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1984

EXPLANATORY NOTE

1. These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Great Britain) Regulations 1984 by—

(a) amending the condition (iv) attached to the exemption in Regulation 3(2)(e) so as to relate the intention to remain in Great Britain for not less than 12 months to the time when the vehicle is first licensed;

(b) amending the prescribed type approval requirements in Schedule 1 at the items numbered 4C (exhaust emissions), 5A (exhaust emissions) and 6 (lamps—headlamps and filament lamps) as a result of amendments to ECE Regulations 15, 24 and 31 respectively; and

(c) removing the time limit from the exemptions contained in items 18, 18A, 19 and 19A in Schedule 1 (interior fittings and external projections) so that the exemptions for vehicle models approved on or before 1st October 1978 will continue indefinitely.
