This Order adds the office of lay observer to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972, and thereby brings persons serving as lay observers within those to whom the principal civil service pension scheme (made under section 1 of that Act) may apply.

(1)

By virtue of article 2(1)(c) of the Transfer of Functions (Minister for the Civil Service and Treasury) Order 1981 (S.I. 1981/1670).
