Whereas the Secretary of State has received representations from the British Coal Corporation (“the Corporation”) pursuant to section 6(1) of the Coal Industry Act 1987(1) (“the Act”) and has consulted pursuant to section 6(6) of the Act with the Corporation and such organisations as appear to him after consultation with the Corporation to represent a substantial proportion of the Corporation’s employees or of any class of them;
And whereas it appears to the Secretary of State that certain of such organisations do not enjoy full participation in the social welfare body known as the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation (“CISWO”);
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State in exercise of his powers under section 6(1), (3) and (4) of the Act hereby makes the following Order:
