5. At the end of section 39(2) (payment of expenses at an election through election agent)(1) there shall be added the words:
“At a local election, this subsection shall have effect as if for the words ‘£2’ there were substituted the words ‘£20’.”.

Section 39 was extended by Article 13(1) of the Electoral Law (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (S.I. 1972/1264 (N.I. 13)) and the sum in section 39(2) substituted by virtue of section 10 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Decimal Currency Act 1969 (c. 19).
