REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES, ETC. ENGLAND AND WALES

These Regulations consolidate with minor amendments the provisions of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages Regulations 1968 (“the 1968 Regulations”), and of subsequent amending regulations, relating to the registration of births and deaths. The consolidation also includes the Birth Certificate (Shortened Form) Regulations 1968 and the Registration of Births (Abandoned Children) Regulations 1976. The provisions of the 1968 Regulations relating to the registration of marriages were consolidated in the Registration of Marriages Regulations 1986 (S.I. 1986/1442), and the only provisions of the 1968 Regulations remaining in force are therefore those relating to registration officers and accounting.
