MEDICAL PROFESSION

The regulations approved by this Order:provide that visiting overseas specialist doctors who have paid the scrutiny fee in respect of an application, under section 27 of the Medical Act 1983, for temporary full registration by the General Medical Council shall not be required to pay a further scrutiny fee in respect of a further application for registration under the same section made within three years; andincrease, by between 16 and 18 per cent, the fees for making an entry in the medical register under sections 3 and 15 of the Act, and, by 50 per cent, the fees payable for annual retention in, and for restoration to, the register.
