Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of powers conferred upon Her by sections 2 and 21 of the Extradition Act 1870(2), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Extradition (Suppression of Terrorism) (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st February 1988.

2.  The Extradition (Suppression of Terrorism) Order 1978(3) shall be amended by adding to Schedule 2 the following entry:

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order applies the Extradition Acts 1870 to 1935 in the case of France, being a State party to the European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism (which was signed at Strasbourg on 27th January 1977), subject to and in accordance with the extradition treaty made with it as amended by the Convention. The Order comes into force on 1st February 1988.
