Title, commencement and interpretation1.

This Order may be cited as the Land Registration (District Registries) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st June 1987.

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires—

“the Act” means the Land Registration Act 1925;

“application” means an application made or delivered under the Land Registration (Delivery of Applications) Rules 19862 or the Land Registration (Official Searches) Rules 19863 and includes a notice or other instrument so made or delivered;

“district registry” means a district registry of the Land Registry within the meaning of section 132 of the Act;

“the Schedule” means the Schedule to this Order.
