This Order may be cited as the Land Registration (District Registries) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st June 1987.

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires—

• “the Act” means the Land Registration Act 1925;

• “application” means an application made or delivered under the Land Registration (Delivery of Applications) Rules 19862 or the Land Registration (Official Searches) Rules 19863 and includes a notice or other instrument so made or delivered;

• “district registry” means a district registry of the Land Registry within the meaning of section 132 of the Act;

• “the Schedule” means the Schedule to this Order.
