These Regulations further amend the Police (Scotland) Regulations 1976 (“the principal Regulations”). They come into force on 13th April 1987 and have effect for the purposes of regulation 5(1)(c) as from 23rd April 1986, for the purposes of regulations 7 and 10 as from 1st July 1986 and for the purposes of regulations 6, 8 and 9 as from 1st September 1986 (retrospection is authorised by section 26(3) of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967).
