Written notice of a special defence or of an intention to lead evidence calculated to exculpate an accused by incriminating a co-accused, lodged under section 82(1) shall be lodged with the clerk of the court before which the trial is to take place, and at the same time a copy of the notice shall be sent to the Crown and to any co-accused or to the solicitor of the co-accused.
