Period of validity of goods vehicle test certificate

11.—(1) A goods vehicle test certificate issued as a result of a first examination, or a re-test following a first examination, or an appeal by a person aggrieved by a determination on a first examination or a re-test following a first examination, shall be valid from the date of its issue until the last day of the same month in the following year.

(2) A goods vehicle test certificate issued in the circumstances described in column (2) of an item in the Table below as a result of a periodical test, or a re-test following a periodical test, or an appeal by a person aggrieved by a determination on a periodical test or a re-test following a periodical test, shall be valid for the period described in column (3) of that item.

2.Vehicle submitted for periodical test two months or less before the expiry date of the current test certificate.From the date of issue of the certificate until the last day of the month in which falls the first anniversary of that expiry date.
3.Vehicle submitted for periodical test after the expiry date of the most recent test certificate for the vehicle (except in the circumstances described in column (2) of item 4).From the date of issue of the certificate until the last day of the month in which falls the first anniversary of that expiry date save that, if this would result in a period of validity of two months or less, the certificate shall be valid from the date of issue until the last day of the month in which falls the second anniversary of the expiry date.
4.Motor vehicle submitted for periodical test after the expiry date of the most recent test certificate for the vehicle and after the most recent licence for the vehicle under the 1971 Act has expired or been surrendered.From the date of issue of the certificate until the last day of the same month in the next following year.

(3) In this regulation any reference to a period ending on a day includes that day.
