The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in exercise of the power conferred upon Her by section 1(1) of the Consular Fees Act 1980(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order shall come into force on 15th December 1988 and may be cited as the Consular Fees (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1988.
2. Part II of the table of consular fees in the Schedule annexed to the Consular Fees Order 1987(2) shall be amended as follows—
(a)in Fee 18 the words “or issuing a replacement passport which contains such amendment” shall be added after the word “holder”;
(b)in Fee 19 the words “or issuing a replacement passport which contains such addition or amendment” shall be added after the word “issue”; and
(c)after Fee 22 there shall be added the following provision—
“22A. Receiving in the United Kingdom an application made in the United Kingdom for a certificate of entitlement to the right of abode ... ... ... ...12.50.”.

This Order amends the Consular Fees Order 1987 so as to prescribe a fee for the replacement of an existing passport in order to amend the holder’s name (fee 18), to add a fresh photograph or to amend the holder’s description (fee 19). The Order also introduces a new fee for receiving in the United Kingdom an application made in the United Kingdom for a certificate of entitlement to the right of abode (fee 22A).
