2.  Subsections (1) to (3) of section 47 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 apply, subject to the modifications set out in article 3 below, to material made open to public inspection by–

(a) the European Patent Office under the Convention on the Grant of European Patents(1); and

(b) the World Intellectual Property Organisation under the Patent Co-operation Treaty(2);

as they apply in relation to material open to public inspection pursuant to a statutory requirement or to a statutory register.
