Cambridgeshire County Council hereinafter referred to as “the Council” make this scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers:
1. The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the River Nene (Old Course) the bridge specified in the schedule to this scheme as part of a highway namely the C86 known as the Ramsey to Ramsey Mereside Road in the Parish of Ramsey in the County of Cambridgeshire which the Council is proposing to construct from a point 8 metres south of the existing Bodsey Bridge in the Parish of Ramsey in the County of Cambridgeshire to a point 4 metres north of the existing Bodsey Bridge in the Parish of Ramsey in the County of Cambridgeshire.
2. This scheme may be cited as The Cambridgeshire County Council (River Nene Old Course, Bodsey Bridge Reconstruction) Scheme 1989.
The Bridge will be situated at the site of the existing Bodsey Bridge which carried the C86 Ramsey to Ramsey Mereside Road over the River Nene (Old Course).
The new bridge will be a structure in reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete.
The bridge will have one span with a minimum distance of 14.5 m (47'6") between the front face of the abutment bases.
28 m of parapet.
The total width of the bridge will be 8.40 m (27'6").
14.5 m (47'6") at the water levels.
The minimum headway will be 2.70 m (8'10") when the water level is 0.5 m (1'7") below Ordnance Datum (Newlyn).
