(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order:
(a)designates further areas of the continental shelf in the Irish Sea, in the South-Western Approaches and to the west of Scotland, up to Lines A and B defined in the Agreement between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland signed on 7th November 1988, as areas in which the rights of the United Kingdom with respect to the sea bed and subsoil and their natural resources are exercised; and
(b)amends the Continental Shelf (Designation of Additional Areas) Orders 1971 and 1974 by omitting therefrom certain areas situated on the Irish side of Line B,
thereby giving effect to that Agreement.
