These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 in relation to Class VI vehicles (public service vehicles other than those of a type specified in regulation 5(3)) so that–the fee payable for the examination of a vehicle is increased from £34.50 to £36.25 if the vehicle is constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers, and from £24 to £25.25 in any other case. These increases apply in respect of an examination following an application under regulation 12 and to a further examination after an interval of more than 14 days from the date of the issue of the notice of refusal of a test certificate;the fee payable for the further examination of a vehicle within 14 days of the date of the issue of the notice of refusal of a test certificate is increased from £17 to £17.75 if the vehicle is constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers and from £12 to £12.50 in any other case; andthe fee payable for the issue of a duplicate test certificate is increased from £7.50 to £7.75.
