This Order may be cited as the Electricity Act 1989 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1990.
(2)
In this Order “the Act” means the Electricity Act 1989.

Section 85 of the Act shall come into force on 1st March 1990.
3.
The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 31st March 1990 —
(a)
the provisions specified in Schedule 1 to this Order;
(b)
section 112(4) except insofar as it relates to the provisions specified in Schedule 2 to this Order, and Schedule 18 except for those provisions; and
(c)
Schedule 17, except for paragraph 3(b) and the word “and” immediately preceding it.

This Order brings into force —
section 85 of the Electricity Act 1989 (“the Act”) on 1st March 1990; and
on 31st March 1990 the other provisions of the Act which are not already in force except certain repeals specified in Schedule 2 to this Order and also except Schedule 17, paragraph 3(b).
The repeals which are not brought into force relate to the Electricity Council and the Electricity Boards which, by virtue of section 84 of the Act, continue in existence.
The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by a commencement order made on 2nd August 1989.
