The Transport (Scotland) Act 1989 (Transfer of Shipping Companies) Appointed Day Order 1990
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Transport (Scotland) Act 1989 (Transfer of Shipping Companies) Appointed Day Order 1990 and shall come into force on 2nd April 1990.
Appointed Day2.
2nd April 1990 shall be the day appointed for the purposes of section 7 of the Transport (Scotland) Act 1989.
Consequential amendments of enactments pertaining to the Scottish Transport Group3.
(1)
The enactments specified in the first column of Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby amended to the extent set out in the second column of that Schedule.
(2)
For any reference in the enactments specified in Schedule 2 to this Order to the Scottish Transport Group, there shall be substituted a reference to Caledonian MacBrayne Limited.

This Order appoints 2nd April 1990 as the day on which, by virtue of section 7(2) of the Transport (Scotland) Act 1989, ownership of Caledonian MacBrayne Limited and David MacBrayne Limited is transferred from the Scottish Transport Group to the Secretary of State.
The Order also substitutes references to Caledonian MacBrayne Limited for certain statutory references to the Scottish Transport Group; the principal effect of the substitutions is to preserve the existing role of the Scottish Transport Users Consultative Committee in relation to Caledonian MacBrayne Limited.
